Kent Narrows Bridge

Hi all,
Am coming down this weekend and am planning on going through the drawbridge on Saturday late morning. I haven't been through it in a few years and am wondering;
--Do they honor the "on the half hour" schedule?
--Do they usually let traffic going with the tide through first?
Thanks much,
Patrick

Yes on the half hour
With the current should go first , but the bridge tender says nothing to coordinate
We always tell the tender when we pass through if we are the last when we are clear ...and thank you

Lots of current near the bridge prevents maneuverability. It’s not the place to push to get to the front. Easy to hold position against the current...with it we traverse a lot.

Thank you. Yes..that's the way that I remember it..at times..a LOT of current.
Ok..good to know that they follow the schedule at that time..especially on Summer weekend.

Re: Kent Narrows Bridge

The bigger problem may be draft and air draft at the fixed bridge. It's hard to tell from the avatar picture, but that looks like a pretty big and deep boat.

Re: Kent Narrows Bridge

Last time I transitioned the Narrows... About a month ago.. Depths were 9' and yes to half hour openings (closes at 9:00/18:00) and with current goes first but good to check in o Channel 13 (IIRCC).
