Re: Early Spring..?

After a really nice sail on Tuesday, I'm wondering if I will be shovelling snow later today...our typical moderate winter temps have fallen to freezing.

Re: Early Spring..?

Im housebound with a fluish bug but outside the weather is beginning to climb into the 40's and 50's. Im really annoyed I didnt get the genoa into the sailmaker yet for a new uv cover-cloth cause this could be the best early spring of the decade here on Long Island...

Re: Early Spring..?

Going to be 60 degrees F here on Long Island on Tuesday. I'll certainly be checking on the boat that day. One of the great things about retirement is your schedule can revolve around the weather not just weekends or when you have time off.

Took the grand daughters to Glen Island Park and there were boats out sailing on LIS yesterday!

Re: Early Spring..?

Having been watching the weather for a while now, I'm proud to say that my forecasts are more than 85% accurate at least 60% of the time. So I'll be sailing, and may bring a jacket.

Re: Early Spring..?

I remember back when I thought "Hey it's going to be 40 (or 50 or 60) degrees and nice out."

BUT

Be real, that's really just being insane!

Don't blow air up my rear, be useful and blow it at the sails!

Re: Early Spring..?

Sigh. Minneapolis.

It was -28F last Wednesday.

Saturday it +40F and raining. We went to dinner and a play and I didn't even wear a jacket, just my suit coat.

We'll get 6-12" of snow over the next couple of days.

Then back to the negative teens fahrenheit for the weekend.

Sigh. Minneapolis.
