Halong or Hoian?

I intend to visit Vietnam 5 days, I will begin in Hanoi and end in here. I am really struggling with our Vietnam itinerary between Halong and Hoian. So, where I should go?

This forum is for sailing boats.

Are you sailing a boat in Vietnam?

People can say they want freedom, but offer them the keys to what chains them, a map to where they want to go,
And they'll turn it down for the cell they know

Hoian is beautiful and relatively quiet. Their local noodle dish is great too (IIRC it's called Cao Lao). Don't know if you can sail in though.

Cam Ranh Bay is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, but that was some years back.

Re: Halong or Hoian?

I voted Halong. I traveled 2 times to Vietnam, it is an amazing and wonderful country with friendly local people. Although Halong is touristy, it is worth to travel. You don't forget to spend time to overnight on cruise. Halong Bay is really stunning in night

Re: Halong or Hoian?

Thanks to all response, I posted the question on other forums and someone told me that Halong is better than Hoian because it is near Hanoi and suitable with my short trip. Further, they also recommend to Halong-bay-Tours with many cruises for my choice. So, I decide to visit Halong but Halong-Bay-Tours is good for traveling?

I traveled by Halong-Bay-Tours 2 times including cruise tour and land tour, guides of the agency are so cool and cute as well.
