The absolute worst is when it's dragging down on you while it's gr.illing on the rail and Mitch McConnel is at the helm with a chefs hat on!

Love that smell of grilling meat! And even though draggin in our case has nothing to do with men in dresses, it is our afternoon entertainment most days during the season.

Re: That boat upwind

News to me that anyone other than a vegetarian would object to the smell of a BBQ. In fact, most vegetarians I know will try to replicate meat products, with fake non-meat products. The Tofurkey is a real head scratcher. If you don't want to eat turkey, why fake it. Even vegans do it. We have a Vegan diner in town. Loaded with all sorts of Egg, bacon, cheese, etc, fake stuff. Often, these processed fake things are substantially less healthy than the original. I really don't get it.

If anything I'd object to getting hungry, if I wasn't invited.

When it drags past, grab the meat.

I watched a sea gull do this once.

Re: That boat upwind

Personally, smelling other people's cooking is like listening to other peoples music; maybe pleasant, but probably not.

The difference is that you've gotta eat, so you've got to cut them some slack. And then ask yourself why you didn't anchor somewhere else.

The exception is when I arrive alone in a large lagoon, just one other boat comes later... and they got to anchor right on top of me. That is a rub for several reasons.
