Liability Insurance for crusing in Mexico

I just read a blurb in BoatUS magazine last night about a liability insurance requirement for cruising in Mexico...

Does anyone have any info on this requirement?

What did you pay? Which service provider did you go through?

Liability Insurance for crusing in Mexico

It is a requirement, though like most things in Mexico it''s realtive.

I was in Mexico for a year total in 96-97 and was never asked for proof of insurance (or the $200 fishing license). But it is a legal requirement, so I would do it. I used a company called Chubasco, but I think I''d go with BoatUS this time. If I remember, it wasn''t very expensive - less than $100 then, probably more now.
