Re: The Voyages of Paragon, Season 2

Drake,

What's that bowline tying technique at 11:55? I watched it a few times and couldn't quite get it. Somehow you have a quick and effortless way to create a bowline.

Mo is a fast learner! (And you are a great teacher!) I wonder if the tiller would be easier for her if it was shorter with a hiking stick or something. Otherwise when sailing with 2 people, it has to be hitting her head and neck. It's one of those "there's got to be a better way" things.

Love the sequence on putting the dinghy in the water and rigging it, and all the details, like how you do a full wrap on cleats before starting figure eights.

Regards,
Brad

Sweet Drake! Assume you made the Faroe islands. Hope the passage went well.

Drake - dude - you are such a dude. When a woman says "Let's have some plum wine" at sunset that is TOTALLY NOT the time to be talking about speed and sailing form. Live in the moment my friend.

Re: The Voyages of Paragon, Season 2

I just found DrakeParagon on YouTube this winter and got caught up while smoking my evening cigar every day. It has been quite a treat and I'm eager for more. Keep up the great work! Your chronicling of your voyage up the coast was special and I can't wait to see more, especially New York. Fascinating. Can't wait to see Buzzards Bay and the Canal.

That's a great camera you have. The visuals in the low light situations are stunning.

Drake and Mo,

Love these long videos. Almost like being there.

After spending days sanding off our old boot stripe, and replacing our transmission with a new beefier one, and now working on replacing engine mounts, your videos are a very welcome respite!

Thanks!

We also do a lot of color correction in our editing software Final Cut Pro X, including changing exposure levels as needed. It's really time consuming, but I think it makes a huge difference.
