Welcome to Boston | #7 | DrakeParagon Season 3

With boats coming from every direction we tested our right-of-way knowledge...did we get it right? It's Memorial Day weekend and we sail into Boston Harbor in the company of a million boats! A million? Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but it certainly felt like that many. As we navigate boats, buoys, and wildlife (was that a deer?!?), Drake shares his early sailing days exploring these beautiful waters. Be sure to stick around to the end to check out the cookie after the credits!

Waterboat

Ever wonder about the origins of 'Dig it' as in 'Can you dig it'? How about where boats provisioned with water in 18th century Boston? These questions (and more!) are answered in this weeks episode as we settle in on a mooring ball off of downtown Boston! We're poised to explore all the city has to offer from the oldest marina in town, and we're launching the dinghy and gettin' spiffy (yay marina showers!)...join us for the next part of the adventure!

SAILING HERE FOR ALL! | #9 | DrakeParagon Season 3

We're walking, we're walking, aaaaaaand we're stopping. Drake has his tour guide hat on as we begin a whirlwind walking exploration of Boston! From the Cradle of Liberty to the oldest park in the United States, we check out some of what the city has to offer before heading to the place where Drake fell in love with sailing. Described as 'My favourite thing about Boston', Drake gives us a behind the scenes look at Community Boating...a place that has truly made good on its promise 'Sailing here for all'!

Barracuda!

From here to there and back again. Time is ticking down to our departure date and we've got to make every minute count. Drake takes Mo and Eanna on packed tour of Boston and Cambridge stopping off at some of the most iconic places the city has to offer. From The Hatch Shell to the historic Boston Public Library to the prestigious MIT campus (with a stop at Hi-Fi Pizza!) we've put on our walking shoes and are taking you with us. Who knows, we may even stop off at a Harvard Bar...or rather, a Hahrvad Bah. (and no, Matt Damon was not there.) Join us for a day (and night!) on the town!

For our $5+ patrons, we'll be uploading extras in the next couple of days so be sure to keep an eye out for those!

The Littlest Shakedown Ever | #11 | DrakeParagon Season 3

If you were out in Boston Harbor on a particular evening, you might have seen a little dinghy trying to sail it's way around the waterfront. Two aboard in light winds. Almost non-existent winds. A captain and his crew...getting to know each other better, talking about the past, pondering about the future, and doing the thing they most love. Sailing.

The Charlestown Navy Yard | #12 | DrakeParagon Season 3

What do the USS Constitution, the USS Cassin Young, and the Charlestown Navy Yard have in common? We're there! We're hopping a ferry from nearby Boston to check out one of the oldest Naval Ship Yards in the United States. Founded near the beginning of the 19th century this ship yard, now a part of the National Park Service, works to preserve Naval history for future generations. Join us as we tour a massive dry dock (room enough for 1000+ Paragons!) and take a peek into the history of the United States Navy.

The USS Constitution | #13 | DrakeParagon Season 3

The USS Constitution | #13 | DrakeParagon Season 3

We have the rare opportunity to tour the USS Constitution, the oldest commissioned warship afloat. We peer inside what life was like for the hundreds of sailors, marines, and others who called her home. We check out the museum and see original weapons, write with an authentic quill pen, and get a view of how livestock was transported aboard. (Think line, block and tackle, and a very unhappy goat.) Join us as an active duty sailor invites us into the world of 1812!
