Re: Devastatingly sad video: "The End of The Dream"

I just watched the latest installment, and I was a bit confused at first. Without referring to her earlier "end of the dream" statements, the first few minutes of the video had her fixing the leaking fuel tank. Wait a minute, why is she bothering to do that if she is going to give up on Karl?!?!? Then she spends a day hiking up a mountain with her friends (some pretty nice video; this kind of off-the-boat adventure is one of things that I like about this series). Did I miss an episode where she decides to keep going with her cruise on Karl? It's not until the very end of the video when she says that she thinks she's made a decision about Karl, but won't tell us until next week. I've got no problem with a cliff-hanger, but that's some uncharacteristically ambiguous storytelling from Nike.

Don't worry about it. If she packs it in you can still watch The Bachelorette, Naked and Afraid or New Jersey Housewives
MikeOReilly and elliowb like this.

The hysterical laughter you hear as you drive a way in your"new" boat ..... is the seller.

I had to go back and watch the video the OP referenced yet again, because I really never understood where everyone got the idea that she was really done with Karl. The title I suppose, but I never took that seriously. And then there was the grumbling, but I guess I didn't take that seriously either.

Anyway, I think you missed a middle episode where she implies that a local told her he thought it could be fixed and she was just waiting to hear confirmation from a couple of shipyards back home (Germany).

Oh, and she and Karl are in Ecuador in real time so there's not much of a cliffhanger...

Re: Devastatingly sad video: "The End of The Dream"

Maybe she needs a new opening theme song:
https://youtu.be/wswFjuJPbxg

When I was a young boy
I wanted to sail around the world
That's the life for me
Living on the sea
Spirit of a sailor
Circumnavigates the globe
The lust of a pioneer
Will acknowledge no frontier

I remember you by, thunderclap in the sky
Lightning flash, tempers flare
'Round the horn if you dare
I just spent six months in a leaky boat
Lucky just to keep afloat

Mike

Re: Devastatingly sad video: "The End of The Dream"

I told my wife we needed to move aboard and support ourselves with a vBlog. She said at age 62 she would not wear a bikini nor would she cry on camera. Another dream dashed.... 😅

The viewers would surely wonder why she is sailing around with an old codger.

Hah! I can't stand that kind of programming; the only "reality" tv I watch is Below Deck.
