Actually, it's not the cotter pin that I'm talking about. The actual handle, it unscrews, when it does it feels as if that releases tension allowing the whole mechanism to rotate free...er.

So... My boat is now on the hard and have had to replace the control head cable. I've the Teleflex cables that were recommended by the CS specialty shop and the problem still seems to be there. Any other ideas on what the problem could be?

The cable went in super easy. The hard part was the contortions I had to perform to use the lazarette. Make sure that the connections match the cable you remove and it will be easy.
