"SURYA II" Modified Transom

Does anyone know who owns the CS 36T "SURYA II" currently listed for sale with Georgian harbour yacht sales in Midland? The transom has been modified with a "professionally installed transom door" to make boarding the dinghy easier, and easier access to the water in general. I would post a picture for reference, but I don't have the required 10 posts yet.

I'd be interested in asking some questions about it, as it is a modification I would be very interested in trying one day to make getting the dog in and out a lot easier

Thanks

Why don't you provide a link to the listing?

Still can't post actual hyper links until I have ten posts. So i'll just copy and paste the text in.

Interesting but would like to see how it effects structure around the backstay mounting plate. Professionally done but by what class of professional still leaves a lot of room for debate.

The interior has some interesting mods too:

Exactly.. That's why I was hoping to find the owner here and ask him/her some questions about it and see some more pictures. I find drilling a hole in my boat nerve racking enough let alone cutting away the majority of the transom.

But if it is still structurally sound and not too expensive, or difficult to DIY, I would find it a very value added modification for someone with an 85lb dog like myself

I am pretty sure the modifications were overseen by (or drafted by) Steve Killing - C&C, team NZ, etc... I think you will find that they are done 100% correctly.

I am very curious about the details myself. My own CS36t lives about 300m away from Surya II, although in another facility. I'd heard rumors of this project, but never seen her until I opened the listing.
