Balmar MC-614 H...questions

I need to input a custom charge program.
Instructions say to use a password to unlock it.
OK....

What password and where to get it?

I've not found anything in my instructions or on Balmar's site. Maybe I missed it...

Re: Balmar MC-614 H...questions

It's not a password protect - the instructions are just poorly written. And out-right wrong in places.

It is just a mode that must be intentionally entered by doing some vulcan death grip stuff with the magnet stick. Follow the instructions under "Advanced Programming".

Balmar programming sucks like no other example in any industry. I think they all learned to program in 4th grade on Commodore PET's - blindfolded and hopped up on pixie sticks - and never advanced an iota from there.

No kidding - I bought two MC-614's at the same time from the same place, and they came with manuals that gave completely different instructions and information in several sections. I called Balmar and read back to them the conflicting information - thinking that they could tell me which manual to believe - and I was told they were both wrong!

Unbelievable, yet we all still buy the crap.

Re: Balmar MC-614 H...questions

Thanks.
I can get to the 'Pro' and 'A5' prompts OK.

The stated need for a password stumped me.

I planned to use their preset LFP program as a guide and just take it down a notch or so...less aggressive.
If you can offer advice on that, I'd appreciate it.

Initial thoughts on the 'belt manager' is to set at 60%(changeable if needed)....the batts take it fast...engine is only 24hp (M30) single V-belt.
It is a 100amp alt.
400w solar is main supply.

Thanks, MS.
That's helpful.

Manufacturers should have step-by-step videos for DIY customers.
