Which shoot thru hull depth meter to buy?

Hello:
I would like recommendations as to what is a good depth finder with SHOOT THROUGH hull transducer to buy. I have a pocket cruiser with a solid fiberglass hull (GRP), and I won't poke any holes through my hull.
Thanks for any opinions.

That will depend on your hull coring. Some cored hulls are not recommended for 'shoot thru' types..

Thanks for the post. I amended my original post to include that I have a solid fiberglass hull.

If your hull is solid fiberglass then almost any transducer can shoot through it. Here is a good write-up on transducer mounting.

almost all transducers are built by airmar
that being said the issues are frequency and wattage
how much detail do you need?
how deep do you need to read?

Re: Which shoot thru hull depth meter to buy?

A few years ago, on delivery from Ct to Maine, DF wasn't working so bought
Hummingbird DF for $100. (now about $90.)
Made a captive reservoir and epoxed in.
Might not be my 1st choice but good unit for $.
Can't speak to other current unit as on my boat I am still using old Data Marine/DMI DF
that I siliconed in hull and has worked flawlessly for about 20 years.
Both install methods work, trick is to have no air/voids and make sure unit does not move
while drying.
