Simrad is40 multifunction display

I have 3 Simrad is40 displays linked up to a NMEA2000 network with compass, log and interface to old NEMA0183 gps. The 3 displays were installed in the spring of 2014, but suddenly one of them has gone very dim - it looks like the backlight system for that display has failed. I find it is a very short life for a fairly expensive display. Has anybody similar experiences?

Re: Simrad is40 multifunction display

We have the B&G Triton version of those, and also had this problem on one of them. Navico replaced it out of warranty after I pushed very hard on them. However, I doubt you will have the same luck because that display is no longer a current model. They will probably offer you a discount on the newer current model, but it will still be expensive. AFAIK, there is nothing that can be fixed on these displays.
