Simrad tp10

I have a tp 10 selfsteerer for my j 30 ...

that silly thing seems to work ok. for about 3 to 5 minutes... than it starts to pendle more and more, until very shortly thereafter it gets itself totally out of wack. An audible warning tells me that we are now going in

Any ideas ?

p.s I am on a lake with almost no wakes, it does that crap under engine or under sails ..

Thanks Thorsten

Re: Simrad tp10

I have the same problem. The simrad TP 10 holds the course shortly than it starts to wander, some 30 degrees off the course on both sides. Is there any solution to that. There is a chepter "calibration" in instructions guidelines, which I tried to follow, no result. It still has a huge deviation from the course.

Befor that one I had a Raymarine (autohelm 800) which was accurate, but it broke. I mean, it was to expensive to repair it.

Have you tried to adjust the gain and seastate?

Never forget them. Do something to prevent it from happening again.
