Looking for Wolter 300

Hello, my Wolter 300, which is now mostly parts that I have collected, had died again. I know I can figure out what is wrong with it when I take it apart, but I am ready to move on.

I am looking for an old Wolter 300, working or broken, to harvest parts from or replace the one I have.

I know that PrecisionTemp is made by the same company, for about $1500 a unit. I may wind up going there, but ouch!

Thanks, Bryan Kemler

Re: Looking for Wolter 300

Hi Bryan,

I'm closing later this week on a Mirage 35 with a fully functioning Wolter Model 300. It worked fine during the survey this weekend. I'm not comfortable with a propane device in the cabin, so I intend to replace it with a conventional water heater.

I'd be happy to sell it to you. Any thoughts on what it's worth?

Re: Looking for Wolter 300

Even the precision temp is not really marine approved. They claim it to be but it does not meet standards. I would not use a propane instant hot water heater on a boat anyway, as they are just not designed for marine use. Heck the ones that came on Nonesuch boats even said not for marine use on the outside of the unit! If you have insurance they may not be happy with one on board either.

Re: Looking for Wolter 300

Hi Bryan,
You might have already replaced your heater by now, but I own a Wolter 300, which though older, was barely ever used. I'd be happy to sell it to you as I no longer have the need for it (nor a boat to go with it). You can email me directly at [email protected]. Thanks for your post -- and thanks to Sailnet for this forum.
