I want to inspect and replace the zincs on my Perkins 4.108 diesel. I'm trying to determine where the zincs are located. My Perkins manual doesn't refer to them. Any advice?
My Westerbeke, which is a Perkins 4-107 in disguise, has one zinc in each of the main heat exchanger and the oil cooler exchanger. If you have not changed them for over a year, they might have completely disintegrated. But the previous photo should help you determine if the thing you remove is, in fact, a zinc holder.
