Now you have to decide wheather to run fresh or salt thru it;

Raw water is going to be much cooler, I would think.

Nobody asked my opinion on this matter but here it is anyway. Provided the HX is large enough to be of real use,(often not the case) the engine water coming out of it is cool enough to be effective pressed against the trannie before it meets the thermostat housing Disadvantage ,more care in hoses required to prevent an air lock bubble. Advantage. no salt corrosion and potential for salt intrusion ( tube type oil/ water hx) Salt water in gears not good and then the w/oil mix overflows to bilge ,not good. .Pencil zincs don't last very long. If anti syphon is . last thing in line before the exhaust lifter ,a hole /leak in any part will flood/sink the boat. In comparison, finding some antifreeze where it ought nought is no biggie.
