Sorry about that. It's an '84. I don't know if a paid survey is on the cards since it's only a $4k-5k boat. I don't have the cash in my budget for that. I've gone over the boat pretty thoroughly and this is my only concern at this point.
If you don't get a professional survey done on the boat, and you don't know enough to do it yourself, then your budget obviously can take a $4k-5k hit without any problems! A survey can save you your investment AND
the cost of disposing of a worthless boat!
As for all that old bottom paint, why not spend the few hundred now to have it removed and start anew? It will cost you lots more in the long run if you don't.
