I need a new roller Furler!

Hello just wondering if anyone has any experience with any of there 2 furlers mine is original and in poor condition. I am looking at the Schaefer 2100 Jib Furling System and the
PROFURL NC-42. I want an offshore furler and I believe I read both of this are offshore.
Any feedback would be appreciated and you think I should go with a different furler please share the name and model. My boat is a Tartan 37C with a 52ft mast.

Thanks!

I would like an offshore one that hopefully will last another 40 years!

We have a smaller boat so we recently installed a Schaefer 1100. Our first boat also had a Schaefer. We love it. We have friends who have had a Schaefer for over a decade in their Valiant and have nothing but positive things to say about it.

Re: I need a new roller Furler!

My '01 vintage Schaefer 2100 was an early model on which they neglected to put flushing holes on the lower furling drum so it was not possible to periodically flush the salt out. After a while most gummed up and required replacement, Schaefer offered the new style drum with flushing holes at a discounted price.
Since replacement about 10 years ago it has performed flawlessly. 32 foot boat currently running a giant laminate genny.

I'm not sure what defines an "offshore" furler.

My last boat had a Harken furler that was over 30 years old and still smooth as butter. It worked nicer than the near new Facnor that my current boat came with.

You cant go wrong with Profurl either.

We have a Harken. Never had an issue with it. Like that it has two slots.

What do you use the other slot for?
