Seafurl 1 conversion.

I bought a Gulf 29 with a Seafurl 1 system complete except for the NLA bushings and bearings for the top swivel. I have the outer aluminum housing. I would like to convert the system to sort of a CDI-like furler. To do so I need to attach a turning block to the top of the extrusions for the jib halyard. This block would take some serious loads. The sail would be hoisted, the halyard secured and the luff tensioned by a set of blocks at the tack. The halyard would be independent of the spar just like a CDI unit.

Any ideas? Anyone try this?
