Wow, that looks like a lot of growth for one month! I use the same stuff on my props, and have never seen anywhere near that for a whole season in my marina in Rock Hall. Maybe your marina is in a high growth area?

I have a folding prop for the first time this season, and I'm hoping it's holding up well. I may have to pull out my camera and have a look.

FWIW, my Chinese knockoff is the SJcam SJ4000 model. It got rave reviews in 2015 when I bought it, but you had to be very careful when purchasing because it was so popular that there were Chinese counterfeits of it (knockoffs of the knockoff) that had lots of software problems. The original model is long since discontinued, but this looks like the latest version if you're looking for a "reputable" Chinese company:

Which of course is an ignorant knee-jerk reaction to the issue. Or an attempt to quash competition, in the case of marinas that also include a boatyard.

My marina in Herring Bay on the Chesapeake says they don't allow divers because of safety issues, but I'm pretty sure this policy is more about quashing competition.

Here's the exact one I got. There are several like it for under $50.
