Don't think so.
They were $100 cheaper than us distributor.
Plus 20% exchange rate and free shipping.

Let them pay me then they can try and get their money back from Canada Customs, my time is valuable to me.
Nope.. When I import something into my own country I know its my responsibility to deal with customs. Its a risk we take when we buy items out of country.

I think its completely rediculous for you to want a refund from the seller for customs in a country the seller does not operate in.

You need to take the time, contact Canada customs and they will issue the refund.

Nice to know the USofA isn't the only country with parasitic politcians. We also use some other adjectives to describe them as well.

Thanks for the heads-up. :-)

That didn't take long. Except that he's complaining that the company screwed up, not the government. Missed that detail,eh? Must be the legal pot

Please re-read my post. If Quick had properly identified the shipment, Canada Customs would not have charged me anything. If you have ever tried to get money back from any government agency you would understand that it can be a time consuming and complicated process. Quick screwed up the paperwork why should I have to invest the time to correct their mistake ? I am sure if Quick were also willing to chase Canada customs they could also get the refund ... eventually.

I find some of these replies way off base. The buyer was very poorly treated by an uncaring vendor... and he's being portrayed as being at fault. He is the victim here.

I own an import company and deal with the customs people on a weekly basis. Its not anywhere near as time consuming as you are making out (cause I'm pretty sure you haven't even tried).

Quick had absolutely no responsibility to know the Canadian rules. They are a business and dealing with orders every day. The one single order out of Canada they got this month, they did the best.

Personally I think you are being ridiculous and using the this forum to "Stomp your Feet"... Ok feet stomped, lets move on! You won't order from them again!

Re: Don't buy a windlass from these people

Quick was given clear instructions by email that the package must be marked warranty. When I complained to them they insisted that thry had marked the paperwork as directed. I then sent them a copy of the paperwork proving them wrong. That was when they stopped responding to me. You don't work for Quick do you ?
