Special part for a hand pump sink assembly
 
Changing all my water lines and ended up breaking the barbed fitting on the plastic 5/8" threaded-3/8" OD barbed fitting (photo attached) that connects the vinyl tubing to the pump handle. Looking at it closely it seems like there is a black diaphragm inside of the fitting. Does this have something do for water flow or that is needed with a pump style faucet or can I just go get a PVC coupler and a barbed fitting to replace this?

Not sure picture doesn't show much however I would have to assume it is a back flow check valve. FWIW

You might want to consider this an excuse to dump the hand pump and install a Whale double action foot pump. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to wash both hands at the same time?

Honestly I didn't even know there was such a thing however, I would think that foot handle would get kicked and broken within weeks. At least with the layout my boat has.

We have foot pumps , I call them the ankle biters . If you have the room you can put them in a recess .

Well they would be nice and I will see if I have room under my galley sink and head sink.

I bet it wouldn't be too hard to put in a pump also and just replace both sink faucets. Can one stay with vinyl tubing if upgrading to a pressurized system?
