Loose your boat no worries

The lesson from the Icarus story is not about human failing.
It is a lesson about the limitations of wax as an adhesive.
If you have an engineering problem solve it.

Re: Loose your boat no worries

from the wiki article david linked:

"When he captured a fish, he would cut it open with a knife he fashioned out of a biscuit tin and dry it on a hemp line over the raft."

Add a spare "biscuit tin" to your list of necessities to have on board.
A crude knife like that may not be so advisable on an anything inflatable but his liferaft was wood.

"The cure for anything is salt water~ sweat, tears, or the sea." ~Isak Denesen
