That stern is a Crealock design ..... Probably a Westsail 43: WESTSAIL 43 sailboat specifications and details on sailboatdata.com

Ok. I will say this for the last time. It is an Ingrid 38. Confirmed by the owner.

I see the Ingrid 38 hull but I am curious, where did he put the rudder?

The original owner installed a wheel. Tucked deep in the stern is a quadrant hooked onto the rudder post. I have now seen about 200 photos of his restoration of this boat. It was in real bad shape and it took him 18 months of constant work to restore. It is beautiful now.

OK, but the original Ingrid 38 did not have a rudder post inside the hull, did it? Did he build a whole new rudder for it?

Exactly - the Ingrid had an outboard rudder on pintles & gudgeons, exactly like a Westie 32.

Converting one to an inboard rudder would have been quite a job.

I, myself, personally intend to continue being outspoken and opinionated, intolerant of all fanatics, fools and ignoramuses, deeply suspicious of all those who have "found the answer" and on my bad days, downright rude.

Yes, he extended the rudder post through the hull so he could attach a quadrant to it. It failed once but the new owner repaired it all with stainless custom stuff and all is well now.

Re: Help me identify make and model of this boat . . .

Perhaps it dragged its anchor and ran its stern into some rocks, or fell out the slings (yikes, probably not that) or off a trailer (hopefully not that) and did major damage to the keel which made available the chance to re-design the rudder?

edit: ok didn't see that post before I wrote. I'd still love to see how he did it. I just can't imagine it.
