Don't you wish you had purchased a Steel or Aluminum hulled boat now?

Re: Ran aground, Looking for advice. Much thanks!

Did the same a few weeks ago. Bent the rudder post. Screwed up kicker. Hobbled back to the mooring. Motor died. Towed to the launch. Progressive gave us $2300 for the incident. I paid $2200 for the boat. SO . . .

Cut the post off and had a straight length of 1 1/4 Sched 40 316SS welded on.

Laminated exterior ply 2 1/2 up the post

Cut 2 1/2" off bottom

3 layers of FRP

Faired and sanded

3 coats of EasyPoxy

2 Layers of HydroCoat

Need to slip it in and do the final assembly tonight

Motor mounts are gone

Shop said $400-$500 to disassemble

I did it in 45 minutes

Should be ready by Saturday,

You know that you are required by law to give the money back to Progressive or Flow will make a personal visit to your house and take you away in handcuffs?

Actually...
(in USA)

Once the insurance pays you can do what you want with the money and scrap the boat or sell it as is or repair it yourself or pay to have the repairs done.

Just can't make another claim involving the same damage and if it wasn't repaired the boat is devalued by the amount of un-repaired damage (which might make it of no value)

I was kidding, you could tell that by my throwing in the part about FLOW taking you away in handcuffs.

I'm in love with Flo. I want to have her babies!

Actually, I think she's a riot. It would make a good sitcom. Flo would work in a diner . . .
Minnesail and albrazzi like this.
