I don't think suggesting an18 yr old who hasn't decided what to do in life,enlist, is a slam to anyone. If he's on this site,a hitch in the U.S. Navy could do him wonders, hit the deep blue briney in the most seaworthy vessel he'l probably ever have under him. Take a couple Med. cruises with a pretty good allowance, after the first cruise spend more shore leave beyond the port bars & campfire girls. I learned to sail on an O'day 18 from Special Services in San Juan. There are a lot of ways to spend those early adult years a lot less fruitful than investing in yourself and your country.
