I see no reason to send a considerable fraction of my donation to Gofundme. I would rather have that go to Dylan.

What is wrong with using the direct link on the KTL page that Eherlily posted?? Why is a link to a company necessary that keeps some of the money for themselves?

Re: Save "Keep Turning Left!"

The paypal button on his site is dead easy (I know, I've used it), and IMHO Dylan's material is brilliant.

Re: Save "Keep Turning Left!"

Thanks for being a booster for Dylan Winter Ajax. I'm glad to hear that you like his website too. He does have some amazing pictures and videos of the UK coasts plus his writing is often quite fun to read; in fact he can be a hoot!
While I have enjoyed a few forays at KTL I have never paid the piper, until now. He is very modest and rarely shills for himself at all. In fact his own "mob funding" page has very tiny increments to choose from that went from $1 to $10, which is barely enough to buy a gallon or two of petrol over there. I hope my $50 that I sent via Paypal to [email protected] will enable him to buy a few more cans of food that he can heat up directly on his stove before even opening them, as he seems to like to do.

Please contribute Keep Turning Left

His videos of starlings in flight were quite extraordinary IIRC.

Please tell me I am wrong.
I apologize for not being more specific. I assumed it was common knowledge that Gofundme took a percentage. My point is, *I* am not keeping any portion of the contributions. All monies remaining after Gofundme takes their percentage goes to Dylan. If Gofundme bothers you, please contribute via Dylan's Paypal link. Be advised that Paypal also charges a transaction fee.

Because history says others will feel the need to chime in: No need to beat up on Ajax. The point has been made. If you want to give, choose which way works for you.

At no point did I accuse you of skimming off money, nor did ever think you would. But I thought that your statement

"All contributions on the Gofundme site will go straight to Dylan."

needed clarification.

And yes, paypal costs money but nowhere near 8%. Dylan gives his mailing address so you can send him a check but if it is not from a UK bank in pound sterling, it will likely cost him MUCH more than paypal to cash it.

Re: Save "Keep Turning Left!"

Calm down, everyone. Please.
I just sent him some $ using PayPay. Their fee was 88 cents.
Just remember that apt saying from so many decades ago: "There IS no such thing as a free lunch."

KTL is indeed an endeavor worth some support, strictly imho.

Re: Save "Keep Turning Left!"

I contributed a few bucks, but only after my wife left the room. She thought it was silly to send money to someone so they could go sailing. But she thinks sailing is silly, anyway.
