Re: Anyone know how some old posters are doing

You kids now adays and yer fancy new Sailnet chat apps. Why back in my day we use to have to post uphill in the snow both ways..and we LIKED it!

Good to see the forums are still here and with quite a few old and new names. Looking forward to catching up on the wealth of knowledge contained within. Most people I have met here have definitely been copper bottomed. Missed you all very much.

Re: Anyone know how some old posters are doing

I'm working on a bot that will scan the internet looking for cool sailing stuff and repost it on Sailnet. That way I can die and it will take years before you guys will figure it out.

That's about all I do anyway so no one will know.

Re: Anyone know how some old posters are doing

As I recall; "Cam," or "Camradarie" was a mod that got into a scrap with the owners of Tartan. I believe that he sold his boat and bought a motorhome

"CD" or CruisingDad was another moderator, and is the guy that we used to rib about his BBQ grill. He smacked his head on the boom of his Catalina 400, and that put him out of commission for a while. I believe that he recovered, but he does not post here anymore.

SailingDog's Telstar 28 trimaran, "Pretty Gee," which was named after his late wife, burned while on the hard. I was shocked that a few members posted some disparaging comments about him in the thread where his misfortune was announced. But I guess this is the internet...He got frustrated here, and moved on to other fora before the fire.

Smackdaddy, as you know, suffered some personal misfortune, and has his own blog. He was banned from SailNet for bad behavior.

... I'm still here, for whatever that's worth.

I still miss anything-sailing. At least the high water mark of it. That was a great forum while it lasted.

I just bought the domain name anythingsailing.com with no hyphen.

I was surprised it was available. Don't know what I'll do with it, should think of something.
