Help please: crew needed.

I took a delivery job and fell sick (as in hospital sick) before we could push off from Charleston SC for Boston MA. I'm not going to die but I am not cleared to travel yet.

The owner and friends got the boat from Charleston to Beaufort NC. I'm doing the best I can for the owner (it isn't his fault I got sick). No pecuniary interest anymore on my part, just ethics.

I found him another skipper (tough since many of my colleagues are taking boats to Bermuda). We need two and possibly three crew from Beaufort NC to Boston MA. Crew get to and from the boat on their own; all costs aboard are covered.

What's in it for you? Sea time offshore with a capable skipper who will spend time with you on the skills you want to develop. When crew is lined up we'll do a video conference call so the skipper and I can answer any questions you may have, including skills. I'll set up another video conference call for lessons learned after the trip. For those looking for sea time we'll have Small Sea Service forms.

Delivery skipper Ryan Mann is picking up the delivery for me that I was too ill to carry out. Ryan comes with high credentials. He has an impressive resume of deliveries and on his own time sails the bottom paint off his Alberg 37. He will need two or three crew to take Limerance, a Beneteau 375, from Beaufort NC to Boston MA. Departure is as soon as arrangements can be made, probably Thursday. Expect six or seven days underway. Contact Ryan directly at [email protected].

You can ask questions about the boat at [email protected] but applications should go to Ryan as he'll make the call.

Re: Help please: crew needed.

Too bad that they moved the boat. You can get a direct one-way direct flight (2.5 hrs) from BOS to CHS for $150. Boston to Beaufort NC is double the time, and at least one stop to New Bern, then cab/Uber to Beaufort.

I'm with you. Owner aboard and friends for crew and they wanted to move the boat. Many people don't get the importance of big airports.

For this opportunity, the new skipper will pick up crew in Norfolk if need be.

As for me, looks like six months of treatments but I should be cleared to travel much sooner than that. Putting a crimp in my lifestyle.

Things are looking up here.

The story of Beth, Shay, Bob, and Dave on Heaven is a thread in itself.

Best crew a guy could ask for. Except for the seaweed. *grin*

Re: Help please: crew needed.

Thanks @Towguy . Doing my best.

I'm on my feet. Allowed to drive, just not cleared for offshore yet.

Skipper Ryan can pick crew up in Norfolk as well as take you in Beaufort. Holding for crew. Tough competing with America's Cup in Bermuda.
