While I'm not a fan of the late 90s and up Hunters, I've always felt that when they started the Legend series, and especially with the 355/375/405 series with conventional fractional rigs that they hit their high point. Look for a later model in those lines, the interior appointments and joinery improved over the model run.
Not a huge fan of their barn door rudders, (due to the shoal/wing keel) but mainly because around our area we have no need for the shoal draft.
We know several 355 and 375 owners who are very pleased with their boats. I think the layouts, while different, rival the Catalinas in that size range. I've seen a 355 that had the traveller moved to the cockpit and thought that was a good improvement.
They are handsome boats and I think you could do worse in that vintage..
