Re: Oven doesn't get to tempurature

So I checked everything I knew to check, which wasn't much before the help of you wonderful folks, and I cleaned the oven burner as best I could. The oven heated up much more quickly, and actually got to 400, which was much hotter that it had gotten since we've owned the boat. So maybe simply cleaning the burner helped.

To be frank, I knew next to nothing about solenoids before I started this thread. And during then and now I did a bit more research and figured out that the previous owner completely disconnected the gas line from the solenoid control valve. The left-behind solenoid is cube-shaped of perhaps 1.25 inches on each side, and was simply left hanging from it's two electrical wires in the gas locker. There is a 1/4"-ish hole thru the center of it, and no place to theoretically connect it to the regular and supply hose.

I'm thinking I need one of these.

12V Low-Pressure Brass 1/4" Solenoid Valve, part # 1300-7708.2-KT; or maybe the 3/8" unit.

The valve is good but you probably want to use pipe tails rather than threaded fittings. Something like these that will fit into the pipes and get crimped using proper gas line crimps.

Most propane lines come with flare fittings like shown in his picture.
