Thanksgiving

Best wishes to all celebrating the first real American tradition.

We don’t gourmet it up, as we like the traditional meal

Roast turkey ( thyme and sage)
Cornbread stuffing - sautéed onions and celery
Red skinned mashed
Sweet potatoes and marshmallows
Green beans
Homemade cranberry sauce- no wiggly canned gel
Mince and pumpkin pie

The best thing about Thanksgiving meal
Being with family
Leftovers

Re: Thanksgiving

There's a pub across the Thames River near me in London called the Mayflower....
Its been there since 1550 and is where the Mayflower started its voyage to the New World.

I'm popping in for lunch.

THE OLDEST PUB ON THE RIVER THAMES, LONDON…
The Mayflower pub is a hidden gem in the heart of Rotherhithe, London.

A traditional English pub surrounded by cobbled streets, the outside decked jetty and cosy candlelit restaurant have stunning river views. You can spot the original 1620 mooring point of the Pilgrim Father’s Mayflower ship,

THat looks exceptional. I'm surprised I hadn't heard about it. It's only been there since 1550, after all.

Re: Thanksgiving

not sure but i think that may be the place where some new found young friends and i met and spent until closing then more outside literally discussing the price of butter and eggs in different nations from which we each originated-- danmark, england scotland, some other places and i got into trouble with my grandparents for staying out until 3 am...oopsy we were having fun.
beautiful place

Re: Thanksgiving

Spent it working on the boat. Yard in Grenada crapped it up. AC is broken and they had since June to fix it. 85 degree and 85% humidity trying to fix what they broke. Fresh water leak from port light over electronics. Rain daily. Rerigging, doing sails, fixing outboard.
Still, had much to be thankful for. Freezing rain at home.
Now in Bequia. Just went for a swim. Drinking Hairoun. Have Internet.
