Yachtworld WTH?

I used to spend a lot of time looking at P0rn on Yachtworld. Recently however, it appears they changed there website and the Advanced Search function went away and many of my searches turn up ZERO results.
At first I thought it was particular to my computer and cleared my cache/deleted cookies/etc. To no avail. Anyone else grumping about their website?

Re: Yachtworld WTH?

Something does seem wrong. I went to their home page and put in a search, with the basic search boxes (Sail, Used, Length, Keyword). The advanced features, such as narrowing down the responses by geograhical reason, were listed to the left of the screen, with the replies from the basic search.

While I did get a couple of hits, I did not get one that I'm 99% sure is listed, unless it literally sold in the last couple of days. I've been tracking it for almost two years. Was even in contract for it briefly. I have the link for that boat specifically, but when I use it, I get some random, totally unrelated boats.

I use their "Personal Boat Shopper" to save my standard searches https://www.yachtworld.com/core/pers...hopper/pbs.jsp

appears to still work.

Re: Yachtworld WTH?

The basic search still seems to work, but you are right, the "advanced search" button is gone. If you scroll down you will find a "Browse boats by" and you can search regions and categories that way, but it does seem like a big step backwards from the advanced search function.

Re: Yachtworld WTH?

As I said above, after you do the basic search, all the advanced search options appear on the page with the basic results.

Maybe they are trying to get shoppers to expand their horizon, before narrowing down. Dunno.

Still curious about the missing boat I've been tracking. It could have coincidentally sold.

Re: Yachtworld WTH?

It was updated a couple of months ago and they totally screwed it up - change for changes sake. Maybe they hired some ex-Microsoft people to maintain the site.

They used to get a lot of clicks from me and now they get none. Similar comments from a lot of people on SA after it happened. They are definitely losing click revenue.

I sent a comment to them about it and got ignored.

Maybe they'll wake up but I'm not holding my breath.

I, myself, personally intend to continue being outspoken and opinionated, intolerant of all fanatics, fools and ignoramuses, deeply suspicious of all those who have "found the answer" and on my bad days, downright rude.

Yep. They screwed it up horribly. If I were a broker, paying to put my listings on there, I would be seriously ANGRY!

Yeah, I also contacted them and never heard back. And the new way of narrowing down your search is clunky and not really useful.
I'm going to try talking to a yacht broker I know...
