Nice sail London to Gosport :)

After being in a marina for 6 months, the last 2 weeks in virtual isolation, I can tell you it was wonderful to get the wind in the hair and pull out the white floppy bits!!!!!!!!!

OK, I was mainly motoring and motor sailing , but, hey, you get the drift.

It was a 34 hour run in beautiful, but cold, weather. The stars were out all night as the pollution has dropped considerably.
Ships were out in full force - I found this very encouraging - but few fishing boats.

Before I used the last available Lock before Shut down I called a marina in Gosport to make sure they had room. They said YES. So off to sea I went. The next day, at sea, I called them "No, you can't come in, the marina is shut". But, but, but... Im already at sea! You cant do that!

I called the other large marina there and they said they'd call back... well, that was an uncomfortable hour waiting... But they finally said yes. With a storm blowing up today I sure didnt want to get caught at sea.

My overall impression of the trip: I love being at sea

Photos: Tower Bridge and Gosport Premier Marina <--- recommended! (the other photo you can forget... I might use it in the picture identification game )

People can say they want freedom, but offer them the keys to what chains them, a map to where they want to go,
And they'll turn it down for the cell they know

A bit like taking off in a plane with all the airports fogged in. Situation is changing rapidly. New York Times article yesterday spoke of ship’s crews not being allowed off - anywhere. They load, unload, and sail on. Tourist destination islands like Hawaii, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard are telling people to stay home.

plus this just in:
