Greetings from Harrison Twnsp, Michigan

Greetings everyone. Just joined here as I was recently bit with the sailing bug.
I sailed a couple times in boy scouts almost 20 years ago, and was recently asked to help a co-worker in a race on Lake Worth TX, as I was there for work.
He has a beautiful Catalina 22 and it really reminded me of how fun they are.
So if anyone has any suggestions on purchasing a decent Catalina 22 or 25 in South East Michigan area, I am looking !
Looking to spend up to $4000 on a good boat and another $1000 on extras if needed.

Thanks !

Greetings lilfoot! Welcome to Sailnut.

$4K in my area (NY) should buy you a pristine Catalina 22' with a new engine, sails, trailer. $4K for a Catalina 25' also sounds fairly reasonable.

Should have no problem seeing a bunch of them on craigslist in your area. I am by Saginaw Bay so if I can help look at something let me know. Also check for catalina 22 or 25.
