Us18

My girlfriend and I just purchased a US18. Hopefully, as gentle a sailor as advertised since this is our first boat. Lessons start next week. Interested in any US18 info or experience. Thanks!

Re: Us18

Welcome. Good luck with the new boat and your sailing adventures. Hope you enjoy sailing as much as I have.

Re: Us18

That US 18 ought to be a fun boat. It would be good in your lessons to learn how to reef. I had an O'Day 17 daysailer that had 145 sq ft of sail area for a hull that weighed about 800 lbs. I was often overpowered. Putting in a reef or two really helps on windy days.

Enjoy your boat!!
