New kid on the block

Hi Guys ..........just darkened your door step as a quick perusal has shown me that this forum has an interesting bunch of knowledgeable sailors who like myself like yachts and sailing.

My home is in the land of Oz (Australia, not the one the Tinman lives in)

I have owned a number of boats over the decades.

My current one is a Dehler 39 which I haven't had that long and am still trying to tune up for my Club's Twilight racing.

Accordingly there may another Dehler 39 owner herein that is willing to share expertise and wise me up.

Anyway here I'am and thanks for opening your door.

Re: New kid on the block

Welcome aboard. There have been several Dehler 39's but I have always been a big fan of the mid-1990's era 39. Great sailing boats that we're very well built.

Re: New kid on the block

There is one of your fellow strailians that has some youtube videos about racing that you might be interested in. If you do a search for Foxwell family racing, you should be able to find it. They race a Hanse 291 and they have an interesting video of downwind spinnaker racing in gusty conditions. They have a facebook page as well but I couldn't tell you anything about that since I'm an old curmudgeon and don't do FB. Keep us informed of your progress with the boat, a new and fresh voice with a different perspective would be welcome indeed!

People can say they want freedom, but offer them the keys to what chains them, a map to where they want to go,
And they'll turn it down for the cell they know
