Sailing Sun Run

Hello everyone. My name is Matt and I’m the new owner of a 1975 Catalina 27 named Sun Run. I’m new to the sailing community but I‘m excited to be a part of it. I’m currently in the process of restoring Sun Run as she’s pretty weathered but has so much potential. I would love to pull her from the water to clean/repaint her, but she didn’t come with a trailer and apparently no one around here moves them without a trailer. Anyone have any insider tips for locating one?

Re: Sailing Sun Run

Can you motor or sail to a yard? They can haul, block etc... and you can work on the boat.

pay attention... someone's life depends on it

Re: Sailing Sun Run

Since you didn't mention where "around here" is, it's pretty hard for anyone to give you any advice.

"Any idiot can make a boat go; it takes a sailor to stop one." Spike Africa aboard the schooner Wanderer in Sausalito, Ca. 1964.
“Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.” ― Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows

Yeah, good call. I’m from Fresno California. My boat is currently in a local lake and they don’t have a yard to haul out.
