Hello. New member, old sailor.

I've been sailing since 1975, when I took a course in Guam. I was in the Air Force, but took lessons on the Navy base. Once out, I bought a 14' C-lark from a Marine that was stationed at Parris Island. I've had it ever since. Passed on that skill to one son that restarted the USC Sail Club while he was there.

Pulled out our 50 year old 14" C-Lark Saturday, and made a pass across the lake. I've got a few issues to address, but the old girl is still dependable.

Re: Hello. New member, old sailor.

Welcome.
After this pandemic sorts itself out, can we expect to see you down here in the Caribbean on your C-lark? I know, I know, but maybe it will be your tender on a bigger boat? lol

Re: Hello. New member, old sailor.

I have no need for a bigger boat. I'm content with the C-lark. I'm not trying to impress anyone.

Re: Hello. New member, old sailor.

Since Guam was too far out of our way to stop on our sailboat, we spent a few days there on a connecting flight. A lot of WW2 history there I wanted to see. Also, a great place to learn to sail and SCUBA dive. Many of us have taken a hiatus then gotten back into sailing. Welcome back, it will be fun.
