Refurbishing Islander Bahama 24
I'm fairly new to the forums and would like to make connections, especially in the Panhandle of Florida and the Central/South East Coast. Born & raised in Cocoa FL sailing was to me what other sports was to many. I began apprenticeship in a cabinet shop where we built masts for windmills etc. and worked in the yard at Bertram in Miami and Ryder as well. Had some nice cruises through the Bahamas back in the 70's and came to the hill to raise kids and work; it's been many years and I'm getting back on the water. Could use some help finding hardware for the boat, it's mostly old blocks and winch springs which are holding the project back now. I'd be especially happy to meet sailors in the Panama City / Port St Joe area to swap sea tales with and learn more about the area. I purchased the present boat from Pensacola Yacht Club, you might know her as the 'Happy Mullet'. Thanks and fair winds.
