Question Where to do a DIY Irwin renovation in Florida?

Hi Folks, I am looking for some local knowledge.
I want to do my own renovation on my Irwin 68 in Florida, starting next May.
There is a tonne of marinas and boat yards out there, and it's like looking for a needle in haystack with the internet!

My wish list is
-A yard or slip that welcomes visitors (6 month period) and doesn't mind DIY
-Access and Bridge clearance for an 81ft mast and 6ft draft
-Safe location from hurricanes
-A fair price!

Any advise would be really appreciated, cheers, Dan.

Take your mast down and go to Indiantown Marina.

There are 2 yards in Port Charlotte - Charlotte Harbor Boat Storage and J&R Marine. We had our boat stored at the latter. The problem is I think J&R's length limit is 50'.

But I'm not sure you draft would allow you to access either of these. That said, they are both extremely cheap for Florida. Worth looking into.

Try green cove springs marina, Tiger Paw marina or Riverside marina is very nice and there are lots of DIY people there. I would not recommend Glades boat yard cheap to store expensive to work on boat plus the area is not the best.
