People can say they want freedom, but offer them the keys to what chains them, a map to where they want to go,
And they'll turn it down for the cell they know

Should also be easy to get to Norwalk for the Sound sailing center. I have not used them but have sailed out of Norwalk and it is beautiful there with islands to shelter the harboar and good access to the sound.

Which part of Westchester are you in? Ya got your Sound shore part. Ya got your Hudson Valley part. Ya got your almost CT part.
Croton Sailing School is great. I'm next door. My kids went to the summer camp program there. They're good crew now.

Sound Shore, i.e. New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, Larchmont.

Re: New Sailor in New York Area

City Island is your best bet. Or, you should be able find a sailboat owner down those parts easily. Start asking neighbors. there's probably one on either side of the street where you are. Crewing on Wednesdays would be a great start as well. As a beginner, you will only need to sit where you are told.
