Marina Slips for 4 months

Hello, so I called marinas from Jax to stuart FL for a wet slip for 4 months liveaboard starting mid to late Aug they all stated the wait time was 6 to 12 months. Is this a normal thing or just an automatic phone response from these marinas? Also is it better to just go in person? I have noticed in the marina I am currently in that the wait list really means nothing. They basically let you in if they feel like it or like you etc.

It's my understanding that FL marinas are backing away from liveaboard cruisers. You may try to reduce your window and maybe stay at a couple of different places, more resembling a cruiser.

I definitely think being in person helps. Especially if you bring your money.

Jeanneau 54DS

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

I think your problem is that you're trying to reserve space into the busy season.

I'm in Fort Pierce City Marina, and if you showed up now they'd have plenty of spots for you. However, you'd have to be gone by November, as the entire marina is booked full during the busy season until forever.

Don't know if that helps your plans any, except that you might be able to show up in August and make friends and somehow keep your slip into the busy season using charm or blackmail or something ...

Don't use the term "liveaboard".

The hysterical laughter you hear as you drive a way in your"new" boat ..... is the seller.
