Re: S2 7.9
I sailed, racing and cruising, a Niagara 26 for ten years. Best friend owned an S2 7.9 during the same period.
Both fast and fun boats, but the S2 had less interior amenities and a bit more speed.
Our N-26 had 'two finger' steering most all the time. One of the best handling boats I have ever owned. Period.
Unless you find one of the very rare S2's with a fixed keel, the two designs are quite different when hard pressed.
Also: hull on the Niagara is solid layup, and the S2 is cored. Get a thorough hull survey on any "Grand Slam" S2 model that you want to buy.
