Interesting.. pricey little fellas, (plus mounting/installation). Seems a better idea than wind (esp around the PNW) as long as you move on a routine basis.

I know a guy who paid more money for an Efoy fuel cell (which you have to continually feed, and only puts out 6A) Of course it runs whenever you need it and whatever the weather.

Certainly a lot more options nowadays....

The cutters are designed to be passage makers so "moving all the time" theoretically should not be a problem. There is also the 300 amp alternator.

Re: Bob Perry's Carbon Cutters

Bob, I think we're all ready for another fix. Any more photos or perhaps a video to come?

Copa:
Sorry about that but I did not go to the yard this week and we have not sailed the boat since the last sail two weeks ago.
I have been preoccupied this week. With my work load increasing Ruby and I thought we should add a new member to the staff.

Re: Bob Perry's Carbon Cutters

I didn't realize we tested the hydrogenerators yet, 40 amps is far beyond what I thought they would make. Then again, I'm more of an embedded electronics/microcontroller kind of guy. Impressive.

Re: Bob Perry's Carbon Cutters

You have much of which to be proud, Bob. I have rejoiced throughout the entire lifespan of your carbon cutter project from conception through construction and now launch -- truly one of the most magnificent vessels ever crafted by man, at least in my under-qualified opinion.

You and Jim Betts and the entire team deserve the heartiest of congratulations and most splendid of holiday seasons.

Re: Bob Perry's Carbon Cutters

Thanks Warf.
At this stage I am very happy with No. 1. We are waiting to sail it in some real breeze. Maybe next week.
Hope you too have a great Christmas season.
Come on out and I'll give you the tour of the yard.
