Fin + aft cabin + walk-thru transom + SKEG

Lived aboard for a few years in my roaring 20s. Always loved beautiful vessels like Seacraft, Hans Crx, etc. Now I’m a sellout who wants an ugly faster boat with all the Hunter/Catalina/Bent-toe etc creature comforts. No way I can sleep at night knowing I have a spade rudder and leaker tube. What ugly boat should I look at? Already seen the aforementioned and Jenn-NO!

Re: Fin + aft cabin + walk-thru transom + SKEG

Whilst its great fun to negativise the question, I feel that one must be extremely open in mind and spirit when lookinig at boats.

Paul is right that theres so many particular likes and dislikes in members of a forum that any boat will be roundly slagged as being worthless even if its list price is $1 million.

When I was doing the rounds of the boat shows I had my (then) GF in tow. She knew absolutely nothing about boats, but whenever I would take a photo of a boat I would include her in it... Her reactions were interesting: If she unconsciously didnt like a boat she would sit down and gently look around. If she unconsciously did like a boat she would be playing silly, pulling faces, looking in draws, cupboards, lying on the beds holding the sign that says "Do not lie on the bed".

So watch for peoples enthusiasm and wonder why.

There is no NO in boat-looking, and no Jenn-NO in any brand whatsoever

By the way, when ON a boat you can not see if its ugly or not. Try it.

People can say they want freedom, but offer them the keys to what chains them, a map to where they want to go

And they'll turn it down for the cell they know
