replacing Bomar hatch in 1979 Seafarer 23

I need to replace Bomar hatch on my 1979 Seafarer 23. Unfortunately, I am having hard time finding a replacement in part due to not finding a serial number on the hatch. Has anyone replaced that hatch?

Dimensions the best I could measure are as follows:

Cutout size: 17 1/2 inch (width) by 14 5/8 inch (length)
Flange: 20.5 inch (width) by 17 1/4 inch (length)
Actual cover: 20 inch (width) by 16 3/4 inch (length)
Radius of corners: approx. 3 inches

I found a hatch that was a half inch narrower in a salvage place. Then I reduced the size of the port by 1/4" on each side and got on with the program.

I had my hatches on my Irwin refinished. Removed the old acrylic or plexiglass or whatever it was. Had the frames sand blasted and then powder coated. Any new acrylic installed by a guy who specialized in replacing the hatch panels. Replaced the old hardware with new gas struts. Turned out better than purchasing new ones.

I realize this is an old post but for anyone considering replacing a Bomar cast hatch consider a new C-140 Hatch, which is common on smaller, seafarers, will set you back $1200. They are super easy to refurbish and they are high quality. I'm planning on putting together a video of my c-140 hatch refurbishment that will be posted on my YouTube channel. Just go to the homepage link in my profile for the video's I've already posted documenting My seafarer 22 refit.

Here's the link:
