Interesting..especially the comment of “no rafting”..

Not sure how this is specific to the bahamas....
Cow hitch the eye thimble for much less chafe.
I dont like that suggestion shown

Standard mooring advice in that leaflet and I agree with it. Sometimes, however, your boat's cleats aren't big enough to allow for the same line to tie over twice. In that case the cow hitch around the mooring shackle/thimble, with the two bitters ends returned to each side of the bow, works too. However, two separate lines has redundancy and the single cow hitched line does not. However, one does it, a slack backup line is always a good idea. I've personally seen boats lose their mooring pennant. One hit me and did 7 grand in damage.

Only place I've really seen rafting on a mooring is here in Vero Beach, where right now I'm part of a 3 boat raft.

We have two dock lines with firehose. If the eye allows enough room use those so donít worry about chafe. If situation permits donít use pendant that comes with mooring but rather our own. Down here usually safer to anchor than moor and nicer especially when you have no one near.
