Re: Gulf of Thailand Cambodia Vietnam
We sort of cleared into Cambodia, skirting the criminally high charges of the local "agent". Taking a tuktuk to the border, the immigration man wanted $40, which we knew was wrong. We held our ground and got immigration clearance for free, as it should have been. We did not care to risk all these criminals on a second go, so we just sailed away. Vietnam has not been on the destination of any cruisers we know for the same, but more severe, reasons. 96 miles off the coast of Vietnam, is the only place in the world we had to initiate aggressive measures against fishermen who were most certainly out to do us harm. You have a tough sell to do. I do hope it works out.
